Why is Melanie Martinez famous?
Melanie Martinez, born Melanie Adele Martinez in Astoria, Queens in 1995, is an alternative singer-songwriter who got her big break in the entertainment industry after she competed in the popular reality-format music competition, The Voice.
In the competition, she managed to turn the chairs of three judges and went on to make it to the top six of her season in 2012.
Since then, the K-12 musician has released a string of Ep’s and two albums. She is fondly referred to by her alter ego, Cry Baby, which was the name of her debut 2015 album and the inspiration behind the eau de parfum, Cry Baby Perfume Milk.

What happened to Melanie Martinez’ perfume, Cry Baby Perfume Milk?
The Cry Baby Perfume Milk was part of the promotional rollout for Melanie Martinez debut album, Cry Baby. While the album was released in 2015, the release of the eau de parfum followed a year later in 2016, due to a delay.
Martinez announced the imminent release of her perfume on Thursday, 1 December 2016, during a live event at the YouTube headquarters.
Originally set for release on Friday, 23 December 2016, the availability of the fragrance was pushed back to Friday, 17 February 2017 to allow the manufacturer of the fragrance time to make enough stock to meet the surprising demand for the fragrance.
However, by 2020, fans of the Cry Baby Perfume Milk fragrance were wondering why they could not find the scent anywhere, as it was unavailable on the official website, which to date, still states that the fragrance is sold out.
In a virtual meet-and-greet in December 2020, Martinez formally addressed the matter of whether or not the fragrance was discontinued.
At the time, she said that it was not, and explained that there was a delay in the restocking of the fragrance as a result of manufacturing problems.
Many businesses experienced similar breakdowns at the time, because of the pandemic. However, she had hoped to restock the fragrance by 2021.
Is Cry Baby Perfume Milk available in 2024?
Currently, close to four years since Melanie Martinez attributed the reason for the fragrance’s lack of availability to a problem in manufacturing, the fragrance is still not available on any of the major online stores even for pre-order, nor is the fragrance available on the brand’s official website.
However, the fact that the website still exists does leave fans with hope that there are efforts being made to bring the scent back.

The note composition of the amber vanilla fragrance includes tops of milk, strawberry, and forest fruits, the middle notes are powdery notes, and the base notes are caramel and woody notes.
Is Melanie Martinez planning on releasing more fragrances?
Though Melanie Martinez is the name and the face behind Cry Baby Perfume Milk, the scent was designed by renowned perfumer, Catherine Selig.
Selig touts her lineage as the reason for her passion for perfumes as her Instagram bio reads, “Passionately creating custom fragrances is my family legacy, started by my great grandfather Meinrad Hilfiger, Master Perfumer in 19th century Europe.”
To date, neither Martinez nor Selig have suggested that a new fragrance will be created. This is despite iterations by Martinez in 2020 that there were plans underway to release the second fragrance by the musician.
